BalkTalk is a digital home for everyone who wants to share opinions freely, meet new people and take part in the topics that shape our region – the Balkans.
Our platform was created as a place where people can connect in a simple and fun way. Whether you want to discuss serious topics, share everyday thoughts or just relax and hang out, BalkTalk gives you a space for real-time conversation – in the browser on your computer and on your phone.
💬 Chat rooms and private messages
On BalkTalk you talk live – in groups (chat rooms) by topic, city and interest, or in private messages. Messages arrive instantly and you can see when someone is typing.
every kind of message: text, emoji and stickers, GIFs, photos (several at once, as an album), files, voice messages and songs
replies and reactions to messages, editing and deleting, pinned messages
YouTube videos in messages – search or paste a link, and the video plays above the conversation
“Watch together” – the same YouTube video for everyone in the conversation, at the same moment
polls and topics (sub-conversations) in groups, with roles (owner, moderators…) keeping order
in a group you can see who is in the room right now, and greet new members with “Say hi 👋”
your own chat background and muting conversations you are not interested in
you choose who can message you
📞 Voice and video calls
BalkTalk offers voice and video calls right in the browser, with no extra apps to install:
private one-to-one calls
group calls for all members of a group
screen sharing in video calls (on a computer)
🌐 The Network – BalkTalk's social network
The Network is where members share what is on their mind and you follow what is happening in the community.
posts with text, photos, video and files, polls, a song, #tags and @mentions – public or for followers only
stories that last 24 hours, with text, emoji, stickers, drawing, filters and music; expired stories stay in your archive
reactions (👍 ❤️ 😂 😮 😢 😡), comments and replies, reposts, saving posts for later and sharing them in a private message or outside the site
“All” and “Following” feeds, “Trending” sorting and your own keyword tabs
following members and #tags, plus search for people, tags and posts
Hangouts (Sijelo) – scheduled get-togethers with a reminder before they start
Morning coffee – in the morning you can see who is having coffee, with your streak of days ☕
birthdays with wishes and a community photo Gallery
winners of the Quiz and Ludo, as well as the profiles of the week, are posted on the Network by BalkBot
👤 Your profile
cover and profile photo, an “About me” text and basic details – only what you choose to show
Profile design: page background, effects around your photo, name style and animations over your profile (snow, hearts, fireworks…)
a profile song that visitors can listen to
the blue check – profile verification with a selfie seen only by a moderator and deleted right after the check
achievements with levels from bronze to diamond and special badges; the points you earn are spent on profile design, the profile song and the AI studio
profile votes once a week, with a compliment (Stylish, Funny, Great music…), Top profiles lists and, every Monday, three profiles of the week that get a reward
others can see when you are online – or you hide it with a single switch
👋 Meeting people
“Say hi 👋” – the easiest way to break the ice; when they wave back, you can start a conversation
“Online now” and “New faces” – who is on BalkTalk right now and who has just joined
“Who to follow” – suggestions of members you might find interesting
Dating – profiles one at a time, likes (also on a single photo or answer, with a comment), and a mutual like is a match with messages and a video call; profiles have prompts, photos and a voice intro
Nearby – with your permission you see who is close; others only see the distance, never your exact location
🎲 Games and quizzes
Live Quiz – questions about the Balkans, geography, history, sports and music arrive in the Quiz room; the first correct answer earns points, with hints and a speed bonus; daily, weekly and all-time leaderboards, and the best players get a notification and a post on the Network
Ludo (Ne ljuti se čovječe) – the classic game for 2 to 4 players live: public games in the lobby or private ones via a link, inviting friends, game chat and a leaderboard
✨ Artificial intelligence
BalkBot – an AI assistant you can message privately (it also answers in some groups when mentioned); it helps with the site and is always up for a chat
AI studio – describe an image or a short video and AI creates it; you can post the result on the Network, send it in a message or set it as your profile photo (paid with achievement points)
🎧 More fun and useful things
live radio while you chat – it keeps playing while you browse the site
Blog – longer community articles with comments
My storage for your photos and files
notifications on the bell, with sound, as push on your phone or computer and by email – all adjustable in settings
BalkTalk can be installed as an app on your phone and computer, right from the browser
light and dark theme, Bosnian and English
All features are in one place to keep your online experience simple and pleasant.
✉️ Registration and email confirmation
To use BalkTalk you need to create an account – with your email or with one click via Google, Discord or TikTok – and confirm your email address. This way every member has a permanent profile: your account, followers, messages and posts are kept and never lost. New members go through a few short welcome steps to add a photo, complete their profile and find people to follow.
Email confirmation also protects the whole community: we know there is a real person behind every account, and there are fewer fake and abandoned accounts. Only registered members can post and comment on the Network, send messages, follow other members, say hi and vote for profiles.
🔞 Adults only and safe
BalkTalk is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old. You can report any content or user, ignore or block unwanted people, and administrators and moderators make sure the terms of use are respected. Private messages are seen only by the people in the conversation, and your location is never shown exactly. Read more about protecting minors on the Child protection page and about your data in the Privacy policy.
