This page explains which cookies and similar technologies (browser local storage) BalkTalk uses, why, and which third-party services your browser loads while you use the site. Read more about how we process data in our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Browser local storage (localStorage) works in a similar way: the site uses it to remember your choices, such as theme or language.
Strictly necessary cookies
The site cannot work without them: they keep you signed in, protect forms from abuse, and remember your language and your cookie choice. They do not require consent (ePrivacy Directive, GDPR) because they are essential for the service you use. We never use them for tracking or advertising.
Third-party content
Some content comes directly from other companies' servers: YouTube videos, Deezer song previews and covers, GIFs, radio stations and the map. When you open such content, your browser connects to their servers, so they see your IP address and may set their own cookies under their privacy policies (links in the table below). YouTube videos are loaded from youtube-nocookie.com (privacy-enhanced mode).
Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) for visit statistics: which pages are opened, where visitors come from and which devices they use. It is loaded only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. We do not use advertising cookies.
Managing cookies
You can review or change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings - the site will then sign you out and ask for your choice again.
