Child Safety Standards (CSAE)
Last updated: September 26, 2026
BalkTalk has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). The safety of children is our highest priority. These standards explain what is prohibited, how you can report it, and how we respond.
If a child is in immediate danger, call the police right away (in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region: 122 or 112), then send us a report.
π Minimum age
BalkTalk is intended exclusively for people aged 18 and over. Any account we find to be used by a minor will be removed.
π« Strictly prohibited
Any content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers children is prohibited on BalkTalk, including:
child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form β images, video, text, drawings, AI-generated or altered content;
requesting, sharing, selling, or pointing to such material, including links to other sites;
grooming β building contact or trust with a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation;
sexual conversations, messages, or requests directed at a minor;
sexual extortion (sextortion) and blackmail of minors;
child trafficking or arranging any meeting with the aim of exploiting a child;
content that glorifies, normalizes, or justifies the sexual abuse of children.
π£ How to report
Within BalkTalk: click the Report option on a message, user profile, or group and select the child safety reason.
By email: write to safety@balktalk.net and include the username, group, and approximate time of the incident.
To the authorities: you can also report CSAM directly to the police, to the international NCMEC CyberTipline, or to your national hotline in the INHOPE network.
Important: do not download, store, forward, or screenshot illegal content β doing so may itself be a criminal offense. Simply report it, and we will preserve the evidence through proper procedures.
π‘οΈ How we handle reports
Child safety reports have the highest priority and are reviewed as quickly as possible.
Violating content is removed immediately, and the accounts responsible are permanently banned, with no right to re-register.
Relevant data and evidence are preserved in accordance with the law so they are available to investigating authorities.
Confirmed CSAM and cases of child exploitation are reported to the competent authorities and child protection organizations, including NCMEC.
The identity of the person who submitted the report is kept confidential.
π Prevention
moderators and administrators monitor public rooms and groups and act on reports;
mandatory registration with a verified email address and date of birth (18+) reduces fake accounts and the potential for abuse;
every user can turn off private and video chat and block other users;
we continuously improve our tools for detecting and removing prohibited content.
π¨βπ©βπ§ Tips for parents and young people
Talk with children about online safety and make sure they know they can always turn to a trusted adult.
Warning signs include requests for secrecy, gifts or money from strangers, pressure to move the conversation to another app, and requests for photos.
If a child has an upsetting experience online, stay calm, don't blame the child, and report the incident to the police and the platform.
βοΈ Legal compliance
BalkTalk complies with applicable child protection laws and cooperates with police, prosecutors, and child protection organizations. Upon a lawful request from the competent authorities, we provide the data needed for an investigation.
